Janet Chapman- Members Manager
I bring the knowledge of thirteen years experience
covering various areas of the disability Sector. 1995 –
2007 I was employed with the Brain Injury Association as a Liaison
Officer. My role was varied but included Support, advocacy and
strategy co-ordination for people who had sustained a brain injury
and their families. I have had extensive interactions with ACC
– MOH – MSD – Health Professionals and Service
Providers.
My previous employment was with The Laura Fergusson
Trust where I was part of the Senior Management Team. My role
included Key Relationships, New Business/Contract initiatives.
I have a son (Andrew) and daughter (Aimee) who
was born with a serious congenital heart condition, which has
involved many years in the health sector. It was for this reason
I reviewed my career , and chose to work within the disability
sector.
My background has been diverse, ranging from owner /operator of
a charter boat - Sales Representative - Self employed designer
of hats and headwear for the racing ladies, and bridal.
My interests are boating, camping, and walking. For relaxation,
I enjoy my music, socialising with friends and going to the movies.
As Members Manager my primary responsibilities
within the role are, communication with members - extending membership
and liaising with services nationally. To encourage and ensure
eligible members have the opportunity to participate in the Society’s
existing and future programmes - Function organization and general
administration.
I am an innovative and proactive person, and always
on the lookout for new opportunities to report back to the Society,
that will help enhance the lives of people who have Cerebral Palsy.
