The vouchers are for
physical activities such as gym fees, physio sessions, yoga classes,
rehab clinics etc. The vouchers cannot be used to purchase equipment
or for medical purposes (i.e. massage, acupuncture, osteopathy,
doctors visits, etc). The user must be an active participant (not
passive)
A number of our members who took part in the “getPhysical”
pilot programme are already organising their physical activities.
Young Luke Mulcahy-Leece is improving his swimming technique every
week at the Westwave pools. Luke’s father Mike said they had
no trouble getting the vouchers accepted by the Westwave administration.
Luke is eyeing up horse riding next as part of his getPhysical programme.
Ira Turvey hasn’t quite got into the physical stuff yet but
he has arranged an organised programme with Disabilities North Shore.
In the coming weeks he is looking forward to mastering the grinder
and so is Jade Farrar who is heading towards the Laura Ferguson
gym.
If you are keen on participating in this fitness programme there
is a small, but growing list of suppliers, on this website, who
have already agreed to accept our vouchers However if you wish to
use a new supplier it’s your responsibility to approach them
to see if they will accept the vouchers. The new supplier needs
to contact the Society for confirmation that we will accept their
invoices. If all is well, you will pay for their services using
the getPhysical vouchers we supply to you. Another alternative is
to get the supplier to supply you with an invoice. You send the
invoice plus the required amount of vouchers to the Society, and
then the Society will direct credit the supplier. (please ensure
that the supplier’s bank account number is on the invoice)
The only non-negotiable stipulation is that all suppliers MUST be
GST registered.
As pointed out above, members of all ages are already participating
so why not join them.
It’s a well known fact that “if you don’t use
it, you lose it” so it’s time to oil the joints and
have heaps of fun along the way
Check out this website weekly for the latest information on suppliers.
Also, we will
update the Q&A section as more questions come in.
