PROFESSIONAL DANCE CLASSES AVAILABLE

The integrated dance company, “Touch Compass” is offering exciting creative dance classes in December 2009 with leading international NZ choreographer Jeremy Nelson.

Jeremy Nelson starts his classes on 10th December and ends on 16th December from 9.30 – 11.00am Thursday – Wednesday and on Saturday December 12th (11.30 – 1.00pm)

Venue: TAPAC, 100 Motions Road, Western Springs, Auckland

Fees:
Fees are per class ($15) or for a block of classes ($70 for all 7 classes). No payment is required until your place has been confirmed.

To apply for the integrated classes, please email your expression of interest with a copy of your CV to: info@touchcompass.org.nz. Please also indicate the dates of the classes you would be looking to attend. If you have any queries about the classes or your application, please email to the info address, or call Susie Tate, Touch Compass Dance Education Co-ordinator, on 0212 963 849/09 940 5848.

About the classes:
Jeremy Nelson’s classes are influenced by his 20 years of continuing study in the work of Barbara Mahler and Susan Klein, and by more recent studies in Alexander Technique, Contact Improvisation and Bodymind Centering. The focus of the class is to integrate this investigation and alignment work into a more formally structured technique class. We begin with a warm-up which focuses mostly on our skeletal structure to access the deep supporting muscles of the body, allowing mobility and suppleness in the superficial muscles; and emphasizes the connection to and use of the floor. The class builds from simple exercises to phrases of movement that involve moving boldly and dynamically.

Any interested people who can't come or where the classes are too full will be added to the list for classes to be held next year.
