New Road for RE-LI-ON-US

Under new management Auckland’s Re-li-on-us mobility Services are heading rapidly towards becoming a health care transport provider, which will include the availability of up to five non emergency ambulances. These ambulances will be fully equipped for wheelchair passengers
Re-li-on-us core service consists of transporting the elderly and the disabled to their customers’ desired destination. This service goes beyond the kerb.

“When we ferry people to the airport we take them right up to the counter and when we transport them to hospital we take them to the actual ward, said Managing Director Harry Pollok.
From August 1st the new additional non emergency ambulance service kicks in, which will cover non-life threatening situations like post-fall patients. All drivers assigned to these ambulances will have at least first aid certification and advanced paramedic drivers will be available on request.
Basic first aid knowledge will be essential for the drivers and our non emergency ambulances will be equipped with basic life support systems like CPR units and fibilators for the heart,” explained Marketing Manager Chris Ross
The non emergency ambulance service includes transportation to acute assessment and treatment, acute hospital GP referral admissions, hospital discharges, transport to and from medical appointments. Stretcher transport for specific events will also be available.
Re-li-on-us recommends customers contact them as soon as the medical appointment is made to guarantee a smooth journey.
All 24 vans and ambulances owned by Re-li-on-us are wheelchair friendly.
To book a Re-li-on-us vehicle ring their 24 hour Freephone 0800 025999, fax 2782103 or email dispatch@relionus.co.nz There is also the option of on line booking on its website www.relionus.co.nz

RELIONUS is an important part of the transport service for disabled people in the Auckland area. It is important that they do a good job for our members. It will take a little while for the new management and owners to stamp their mark on the company. We wish them well.

Please email me with your experiences, either good or bad, regarding the servicepresently being provided, especially regarding their reliability.
