Here is a wonderful opportunity to loosen those limbs and let your hair down folks, in a fun and supportive environment. Touch Compass, NZ’s leading integrated dance company, invites Cerebral Palsy members to its “creativity through movement” two day workshops. (March 29th & 30th or April 4th & 5th) All levels of skills and ability welcome. The workshops are conducted by tutors with a wide range of skills in the education and contemporary dance fields. “Our workshops are very flexible,” said Artistic Director Catherine Chappell. “We make sure everyone’s comfortable in our environment to ensure participants gain confidence over the two days. We also make sure everyone has a lot of fun.” On the first day participants become familiar with the environment and are invited to join in the warm up routines. |

Later on the dancers form small groups and/or partnerships to express themselves via movement. On day two everyone shows off their creative side in a very informal way. Catherine emphasises that the level of participation is entirely up to each individual. People can take time out and just watch, anytime they feel like it. However it’s best to come along in casual, loose clothing. Dresses are not recommended. For further detail |
