Have you say on Auckland Disability Issues |
|
| The Disability Resource
Centre (DRC) is working in partnership with independent research company
Bennett and Bijoux Ltd to conduct research about what it is like living
with disability in Auckland City. The research is being conducted on
behalf of the Local Government Centre at AUT University, Auckland City
Council, Auckland District Health Board and Waitakere City Council to
examine the location, movement, strengths, capabilities, needs and aspirations
of disabled people who live in Auckland City. The study will help the
research partners to improve the wellbeing of disabled Aucklanders and
will contribute to the development and purchase of programmes and services
in the future.
The DRC have been asked to contact people living in Auckland City who might be interested in taking part in this research. Can you help? If so contact DRC directly and register your interest. Participation would involve contributing to a focus group discussion for about two hours at a mutually agreed date and time in June. Participants will receive a small koha and transport assistance can be arranged. Focus groups will be held at the DRC in Royal Oak and light refreshments will be served. If you would like to register interest in taking part
please contact me, Julianne McEldowney at the Disability Resource Centre
Auckland before 28 May 2008. (There is a possibility that late registration
could be considered although there is no guarantee as the researchers
are on a tight schedule) Bennett & Bijoux will then contact you
with more details about the focus groups. Julianne needs to know the best time and way to contact you (phone, fax, email, day and time). She will record these details and forward them to the researchers who will be back in touch soon. |
