Spirits were high at Mid Winter Christmas lunch

What a magical moment at Butterfly Creek, during the Cerebral Palsy Mid Winter Christmas lunch. The launching of the CP new logo, featuring a stylised Kotuku ( White Heron), was in full swing. Suddenly, right on cue, the real deal made an appearance.

Majestically the Kotuku landed on the venue’s terrace, as if to give its personal approval. Sceptics would mark down the Kotuku’s appearance as a mere coincidence but the romantics among us just knew the omens were good for the future of our society.

Members also had the privilege of meeting author Reagan Davis who signed copies of his book “People Like Me” on request. Reagan gave a heartfelt short speech on the reasons behind the birth of this publication. He also introduced his mother who was the driving force behind the family.
Overall it was a great afternoon. Butterfly creek was a beautiful setting. Despite the winter chills outside, the internal atmosphere was one of conviviality. The hours sped by and everyone contributed to the occasion which was full of laughter, contemplation and hope for the future
