| Bright future predicted at unified AGM |

A most harmonious Cerebral Palsy Society of New Zealand Annual General Meeting was held on the last Sunday of October 2007. There was a general feeling of unity and an anticipation of a stimulating future among those who attended this AGM. In his report President Karl Sangster was full of praise for the events that took place over the past year. Karl stretched our memories back to our Christmas function where a most enjoyable lunch was held at Unitec. This was followed in January by the CP Society’s Open Boccia tournament. In conjunction with this event a dinner and dance was held at the Papatoetoe Town Hall, where the achievements of the gold medal winning NZ Boccia team was recognised. 101 people attended the very successful mid-winter Christmas lunch at Butterfly Creek. Reagan Davies author of the book “People like me”, which was sponsored by the society, were among the invited special guest. An unexpected, but most welcomed, visitor was the
Kotuku (White Heron) who just happened to make a “guest”
appearance to coincide with the launching of the new CPS logo. |

| January. Harvey has been instrumental in the growth of the society by implementing projects that the board recognised as priorities. This included the subsidized transport project “getOutThere” and the “GetConnected” project which is connecting our members to the World Wide Web. Special thanks were given to Projects Manager Michael Northcott who has become increasingly busy installing computers, supplied by the CP Society, into our members’ houses. A couple of fellas named Flood and Munckhof, labelled the Dynamic Duo, were also congratulated in putting together the society’s official publication “The Review.” In his other role as the society’s webmaster Paul Munckhof has revamped our website. As a direct result of his efforts, visitors to the site have increased by a factor of 3. The meeting concluded with retiring committee member Geoffrey Barnes (photo) receiving a gift of appreciation for his 15 years of service to the society. After the meeting there were two brief presentations. The first by Harvey Brunt, and second by John Wade, CEO of Focus 2000, explaining the structures of their organisations and how each administration interconnects Minutes and President’s Report of the 2007 AGM
